Derelict Boat Clean-up

IMG_5087.JPGWhen we purchased Creekview last fall there were two boats on the property down by the old Dock.

In the beginning we found them acceptable and we thought they added to the charm.  This past Spring they showed their true colors when the Poison Ivy began to grow.  We quickly sprayed, not something that I like to do this close to the water, but with City grandchildren we figured it a must-do.  Over the years, before our purchase,  the boats were a dumping ground for trash for all type everything from old concrete block to paint brushes, roller covers and other trash.

The ate finally arrived, we had completed the installation of water and electricity at the dock so powers was available so I got my handy and we used reciprocating saw from the garage and began the process.  I back up the old red pickup truck and “the cutting began” starting with the worst of the two.  About a day and a half latter, three trips to the landfill the job was complete.

I saved a couple of useable boards to make some future project from old boat wood but for the most part nothing else was useable.
