Joe Purdue completed the dock last night and this morning moved the pile driver off to the next job. Joe was very fortunate this morning was dead calm so he was able to push it out the creek without incident, coming in at low tide conditions the wind ran it a ground a couple of times. The dock builder called on Tuesday to let us know he was ready to start, and would be delivering materials on Wednesday. Unfortunately were were headed out of town to the Cayman Islands. Therefore our recording of this event is going to be limited to some WebCam photos for the first couple of days. Joe Purdue the dock build, leaves Friday for a week to attend his sons graduation on a from the Air Force academy and we both will be back in town for the remained of the construction.
Well today Pat and I signed the contract for the Bunkie and with any luck it will get started on or about May 10th. The first step is to demo the garage roof and concrete pier and then add two courses of concrete block and a new floor and it all up from there!
We wanted to make sure that our guest, which there will be many of time, are as comfortable as our little cottage will allow. Therefore

we have replaced the terrible carpet with luxury vinyl flooring, replaced a very river water worn toilet with a Champion $ Right-height design, a new sink, vanity and faucet. We removed the old light fixture

and huge oak medicine cabinet. Pat found the mirror at the antique shop in Mathews.
We finished up the Hardi Backer board today and rehung to of the cabinets in the kitchen We also added a piece of Bead Board on the wall with the arched entry to the living room. We moved all of the furniture from the living room, actually just the gas fireplace and the guest room to the master bedroom and Rivah room in preparation for the floor refinishers who are due at 0830.
